I have never forgotten what one of my favorite communication professors said to her class many years ago:
Remember, you cannot not communicate!

So true. Even when you think you are not talking or listening, you are communicating something. Maybe it's your foot tapping or your eyes blinking or your fingers moving. We are always saying something to other people and to ourselves. That is why you must become an effective communicator.

It's one of the most important skills you will ever need in school, in a job, at home, everywhere!
